2919 voters voted in favor of closing liquor vends, 75.04 percent voting took place.

Peaceful voting was held on Monday in Gram Panchayat Kansli regarding closure of liquor vends. Crowds of men and women gathered to vote. People were seen standing in queues waiting for their turn to vote. This voting was not being done to elect any public representative but to make Gram Panchayat Kansli liquor free. A lot of enthusiasm was seen among women for voting to close liquor vends. Women reached the polling station singing songs to vote. Appropriate arrangements were made by the administration for voting. Men and women, youth, elderly and disabled people actively participated in this liquor ban campaign. The crowd started gathering at the polling station from 10 am. Local residents told that due to liquor vends in the Gram Panchayat, the young generation is getting addicted to drugs, due to which the villagers are worried. In such a situation, he had demanded the administration to close the contract. After which the District Collector had ordered to hold elections on 26th February to gather the opinion of maximum people for closing the liquor shops. Voting regarding this was held on Monday. There were a total of 3750 voters in the election to close down liquor vends in Gram Panchayat Kansli. Out of which 2932 voters exercised their vote. 2919 voters voted in favor of closing liquor vends. 04 voters voted in favor of keeping the liquor vend open and 09 votes were rejected. Thus, total voting took place at 75.04 percent. Voting was held from 10 am to 3 pm on Monday. For which three booths were made in Government Girls Higher Primary School, Kansli. Room no. 01 in Part No. 163, 02 in Part No. 164 and 03 in part no. 158 people voted. It is noteworthy that due to lack of sufficient space in the Panchayat building, Government Girls Higher Primary School was selected at a distance of about 300 meters from the Panchayat building. Regarding this, under the leadership of Presiding Officer Tehsildar Kotputli Saurabh Gurjar, Assistant Polling Officers Bhuvaneshwar Yadav, Mukesh Kumar Jat, Mahendra Kumar Gupta and Surendra Kumar Yogi. Similarly, under the leadership of Presiding Officer Tehsildar Bansur Neelam Raj Banshiwal, three separate groups of Ajay Kumar, Gurudayal Yadav, Ramsingh Gurjar, Rajendra Prasad Arya and under the leadership of Presiding Officer Tehsildar Behror Rajveer Yadav, three separate groups of Sheoram Saini, Babulal, Surendra Kumar Saini and Ajay Kumar etc. Separate voting parties were formed. Polling personnel were also given training for this. Presiding Officer Tehsildar Saurabh Gurjar said that the villagers of the Gram Panchayat had filed a complaint to get the liquor shops operated at the Gram Panchayat level closed. The villagers were trying for this for the last two years. In this regard, there is a provision in section 09 and 10 of the closure of liquor shops by local option under the Rajasthan Excise Act that if by conducting voting at the Gram Panchayat level, 51 percent of the voters vote in favor of closing the liquor shops, then the liquor shops will be closed. Will be closed forever.

Enthusiasm was seen among the villagers regarding voting:- Fair voting was conducted in a peaceful and fear-free environment in Gram Panchayat Kansli. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the villagers regarding voting. There were long lines of 50 to 70 people at each polling station. In Gram Panchayat Kansli, out of total 3872 voters including 2027 males and 1845 females from 09 wards, 1530 male voters (75.48 percent), 1402 female voters (75.99 percent) and a total of 2932 (75.72 percent) voters exercised their vote. At 3 pm polling station no. 01 at 64, polling station no. 02 at 48 and polling station no. On 03.03, 32 voters were standing in the queue, to whom tokens were issued. Immediately after the voting, the counting of votes was done under the leadership of the three presiding officers in the presence of the villagers and all the polling officers including former Panch Rajveer Yadav, Jaisingh Yadav, Ashok Yadav, Sunil Verma, former Sarpanch Vishnu Sharma, Excise PO Padam Singh. Out of 2932 votes, 2919 votes were in favor of closing the liquor shop and 04 voters voted in favor of keeping the liquor vend open and 09 votes were rejected. Contractor Ramesh Kumar said that revenue of Rs 73 lakh was collected every year. Liquor vends will be closed in Gram Panchayat Kansli from 1st April 2024.
