In a deeply concerning incident reported from the Bayana police station precinct in Bharatpur district, local authorities have commenced a formal investigation into the suspicious death of a 24-year-old married woman, identified as Rashmi Kumari, following severe dowry harassment allegations raised by her maternal kin.
According to preliminary police reports, the victim was married into a local household where she reportedly encountered persistent domestic friction. Following her sudden death under unexplained circumstances, aggrieved family members from her maternal village rushed to the location and lodged an official complaint with the local police station.
The victim's relatives explicitly alleged that the in-laws had been mounting sustained pressure on the young woman to procure Rs 5 lakh in cash and a high-end motorcycle as additional dowry. They further alleged that when their demands were not fulfilled, the in-laws conspired and smothered her using a pillow, presenting the demise as an unexplained health emergency.
Upon receiving the formal complaint, senior police personnel dispatched a forensic team to examine the scene of the incident and secure essential evidence. The deceased's body was transferred to the government hospital, where an autopsy was conducted by an authorized medical board under administrative supervision. Investigators confirmed that viscera samples have been preserved and forwarded for detailed laboratory testing.
Circle police officers emphasized that a statutory case under dowry death provisions has been registered, and key family members from the matrimonial home are being summoned for questioning. Authorities assured that strict legal action will be initiated in accordance with the findings of the final forensic autopsy report.
