In a major pre-Diwali crackdown against food adulteration, the food safety team in Dholpur executed sudden raids at two distinct establishments within the RIICO industrial area. This proactive enforcement aims to protect consumers from consuming substandard and potentially hazardous sweets during the peak festive season when market demand for traditional delicacies multiplies exponentially.
The festive season traditionally witnesses a massive surge in the consumption and commercial distribution of popular sweets and dairy commodities. Unscrupulous elements often attempt to exploit this high demand by flooding markets with substandard, adulterated, or chemically compromised items to maximize profit margins at the absolute expense of public health.
Acting on specific intelligence and stringent surveillance protocols, food inspector Narendra Singh Chauhan and his assistant Mohammad Salim initiated meticulous reconnaissance operations as early as 5:00 AM. During these inspections, suspicious consignments arriving via local buses were being systematically transferred into auto-rickshaws for distribution across local commercial retail outlets.
At Krishna Food Products, the inspecting authorities expressed grave concerns regarding the quality and hygiene standards of the manufactured sweets. Consequently, a substantial quantity of 760 kilograms of Sonpapdi was immediately seized to prevent its distribution to unsuspecting consumers across the regional markets.
In addition to the confectionery seizure, the inspection team conducted a thorough and intensive examination of the Ajanta Milk Food and Dairy Plant. From this facility, four distinct product samples, including mixed milk, paneer, and processed cheese, were meticulously collected for comprehensive laboratory analysis.
Furthermore, authorities recovered more than 136 boxes of mawa destined for local sweet vendors, adding further gravity to the widespread nature of potential supply chain irregularities. Three official samples of the seized Sonpapdi along with the dairy products have already been formally dispatched to certified state laboratories for detailed chemical and bacteriological testing.
The regional administrative machinery has reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining absolute food safety and consumer protection standards throughout the district. Strict legal actions, including heavy penalties and potential prosecutions, will be initiated against establishments found violating statutory food safety regulations following the receipt of formal laboratory test reports.
